MyMedicare is designed to strengthen the connection between you and your preferred GP and medical practice. By regularly attending the same clinic and seeing the same doctor, your GP can provide more consistent and personalised care.

Being registered with our practice also supports better coordination of your care. It allows improved communication between your GP and other healthcare providers, such as specialists and hospitals. This means quicker access to test results, discharge summaries, and better collaboration with pharmacists and allied health professionals.

You’re still free to visit other clinics if needed. However, by nominating The Lindisfarne Clinic as your preferred clinic, you’ll receive additional Medicare benefits here. To do this, you must register with MyMedicare, select our clinic, and nominate your preferred GP.
Patients registered with MyMedicare will also be eligible for a higher Medicare rebate for longer telehealth consults (over 20 minutes), making it more affordable to have extended remote discussions with your GP, but only through your nominated clinic.

No, registering for MyMedicare is completely free and voluntary.

No, registration is not mandatory. However, if you choose not to register, you won’t be able to access the additional Medicare benefits currently offered through MyMedicare when you visit The Lindisfarne Clinic.

Please note that future changes to Medicare services or programs may only be available to patients who are registered with MyMedicare, so registering now ensures you stay eligible for any new benefits as they are introduced.

No, registering does not stop you from seeing other doctors or visiting different clinics. However, the additional Medicare benefits are only available at the clinic you have chosen as your preferred clinic.
